This is indeed a beautiful book. A book with multiple short stories about women who experienced love, loss, and everything in between.
There was so much that I loved about the story. I loved how I was not expecting such emotional turmoil from the book. I was expecting a very happy tale, but Under the Lights was full of drama, pain, and sorrow. It was actually very good!
While reading the book, I kept imaging the movie Grease or Cry Baby. You know where there is a gang of rebels and they are outsiders from the rest of the non-rebellious teenagers?
Jessica wanted to make known the sexually objectified comments or actions of others towards her since she was little and how it shaped her to be this huge feminist and anxiety driven person.
Another good job to Rainbow Rowell for writing such a moving book! I very much enjoyed the book!
